Authority discontinues alleged Code breaches at Waipipi Wind Farm

- Compliance
The Electricity Authority has decided to discontinue its investigations into alleged breaches of the Electricity Industry Participation Code by Genesis Energy Limited and Waverley Wind Farm Limited.
The investigations related to allegations that the parties did not comply with flagged dispatch instructions at the Waipipi Wind Farm.
The Authority decided to discontinue the investigations because a breach was unlikely to have occurred. It found the wind farm controller was responding to frequency in compliance with an equivalence arrangement in place with the System Operator.
Although the parties were unable to reach a settlement, Genesis Energy Limited and Waverley Wind Farm Limited showed a willingness to work with the System Operator to resolve the issue.
More information is available in the below decision notices.
