Call for nominations: Distribution connection pricing technical group

  • Distribution

The Electricity Authority is calling for nominations for new members to join the 'Distribution connection pricing technical group', an independent technical group that supports our ongoing work to improve distribution connection pricing.

The group is made up of representatives from access seekers (those connecting to networks), distributors, independent advisors and industry experts. It provides practical industry input, tests the workability of proposed reforms, and assists in the development of implementation arrangements for the Distribution connection pricing reform project.

Established in 2024, members were initially appointed for a two-year term. Following a further call for nominations in 2025, the Authority appointed three additional members to fill vacancies. The terms of all current members are now ending, and we are seeking to appoint new members from a range of backgrounds.

In addition to distributors, we are particularly keen to receive nominations from people with experience in:

  • large access seeker interests
  • major connection projects
  • practical connection processes
  • network investment and planning
  • customer and developer interests

To ensure a balanced membership, we will consider all nominees alongside former members seeking reappointment.

We intend to appoint the successful nominees to the group until the end December 2027.

To make a nomination, please complete and return this nomination form by 5pm, Monday 2 November 2026 to distribution.pricing@ea.govt.nz with ‘DCPTG nomination’ in the subject field.
